About 15 years ago I recorded my first ever mix tape (yes, cassette) of rare groove songs called “The Stoned Soul Picnic”. I loved it, people loved, and even DJ’s like “Little” Louie Vega ad Kenny Dope from Masters @ Work and singer Macy Gray gave me props for it. I don’t have that cassette or even that mix anymore. I can tell you that if I was to record that mix again, it’d sound a lot like this mix you are hearing, except for my skills got a little better since then.
